Although IVAO Lebanon’s Events Department is constantly pushing the envelope with fresh ideas and modern innovations, when it’s time to go classical — history is what we’re most proud of. This event is our tribute to that legacy.
On 01 January 1946, Middle East Airlines launched its first commercial flight from Beirut to Nicosia using a De Havilland DH.89 Dragon Rapide, possibly registered OD-ABX. While Nicosia Airport is no longer operational in real life, we’ll honor this historic route virtually by flying between Beirut (OLBA) and Larnaca (LCLK) — keeping the spirit of the flight alive.
This event is tailor-made for our needle-and-gauge pilots and lovers of aviation heritage. Whether you’re flying a vintage civilian aircraft or a warbird or just want to immerse yourself in the early days of Middle Eastern commercial aviation, you’re warmly invited to join us in the skies.
Expect ATC coverage and a beautifully nostalgic atmosphere. Let’s make history fly again!
