On this Independence Day, IVAO Lebanon invites you to celebrate the enduring unity and resilience of the Lebanese people with a symbolic single runway operation at Beirut International Airport (OLBA). Reflecting our unity in all circumstances, we will operate from one runway only – Runway 17 when southern winds prevail, and Runway 03 under northern winds. No matter the wind, we’ll stand as one.
- From OLBA to Anywhere: Departures are open to destinations worldwide, with a minimum one-hour block time requirement.
- To OLBA from Anywhere: Arrivals are also welcome from any origin, as long as the block time remains minimum one hour.
For those interested in exploring Lebanon’s skies, local VFR flights are permitted between OLBA and OLKA, OLRA, and Z19O, with no time restrictions. Whether it’s a short hop or a sightseeing journey, you are welcome to join! Do not worry, you will be vectored!
To ensure smooth operations in and out of OLBA, be prepared for possible holding patterns. Carry extra fuel and plan accordingly. Our controllers will manage the flow to keep your experience as smooth as possible, but patience may be required during peak times.
