After more than two decades of soaring above challenges, we recall how MEA was on the brink of bankruptcy, did not find a buyer, while today MEA is a model being taught at universities. Thus, the Board of Directors succeeded, as promised, to rebuild a company that has gained the confidence of the Lebanese and is a source of pride and honor for its entire staff. It is the journey of a Lebanese Cedar that flew high and has its eyes fixed on the sky so that it always remains in the lead.
MEA´s fleet consists of Airbus Aircraft types: A330-200, A320-200 and A321neo.
In June 2019, Middle East Airlines (MEA), signed a firm order for the purchase of four A321XLR (to be delivered between 2024-2025), making it the launch customer of the latest version of the highly successful A321 neo family. The agreement brings orders for the single-aisle aircraft cumulated by Middle East Airlines with Airbus to 15 A321neo Family aircraft, including 11 A321neos and 4 A321XLRs delivery as of 2020. MEA will use the A321XLR to strengthen its network in Africa and Asia. In addition, the company purchased four A330-990 Neo expected to be delivered between 2026-2028.
