SEPTEMBER 24
IVAO Lebanon hosted a special group flight focused on practicing go-around procedures and alternate flight planning. The flight departed from OLBA (Beirut Rafic Hariri Int’l), with LCLK (Larnaca Int’l) as the intended destination. Pilots were tasked with performing a go-around at Larnaca and then diverting back to Beirut, simulating essential real-world techniques.
Despite the careful planning and the educational nature of the event, attendance was immensely hindered by the unfortunate situation in Lebanon and the region, affecting many potential participants. Nevertheless, those who were able to join experienced valuable practice, focusing on:
- Go-around procedures
- Activating alternate flight plans
- Correct flight level selection following eastbound/westbound rules
We look forward to organizing more events in the future and appreciate the continued support from the community during these challenging times.
